Today marks two weeks since my Grandmother passed away. She had been doing so well, and then suddenly she took a turn for the worst. She had been ready to go for awhile, and at her age we knew it was only a matter of time. We hoped for the best and prepared for the worst. But I guess no matter how much you prepare, you're never really ready when it happens. I love you so much Grammy, I miss you ❤️

Hi, Tayla. I still say if you want to give Moana 2 a chance, you can.

I didn't even see the first Moana. Before I continue, did you actually watch the video I sent or did you just read the title?

I DID watch the video and it made me so angry! My words of reply back there were based on what I saw.

Hi, Tayla. If I came off as overly pedantic and angry last night, I’m sorry. But I do mean it about trusting kids’ judgement and thumbing my nose to ratings systems and the notion of demographics when anyone of any age gets into certain art and media anyway. Also, if you want to give Moana 2 and more of Disney’s live-action remakes a chance, that’s fine, you do you. But please leave me out of it.

You said kids could handle more than you give them credit for, and yet rules and regulations against certain content, plus the ratings systems and demographics, exist for a reason. Maybe neither of us should be a bother to the status quo and leave the kids alone… (Feel free to convince me otherwise.)

* Are you saying we should just trust kids judgment? Let them watch whatever they're going watch, and let them draw their own conclusions?

*

* Also did you hear OJ Simpson died?

*Well, yeah, that and if they’re curious about certain art/media that ordinarily would be considered out of bounds yet presents more of a challenge, and if they have the foresight, self-discipline and mature judgement if left to their own devices, by all means they should go for it! They‘ll work out how to explain it to the grownups later. That is, I’d hope that would be the case, if their parents, teachers and other assorted authorities would trust their judgement and not be so overprotective. If you and I each created certain stories that were by design anti-demographic and were more liberal in their subject matter yet tasteful and children picked them up, best-case-scenario: they’ll be smart and consider carefully what they’re reading/watching and know when to put the story down if something in it doesn’t agree with them and move on, and nobody the wiser. I advocate this because the whole matter of what‘s demographically expected and the ratings system hardly works, when people of any generation can get into various things and it inspires them just the same, rendering the notion of ”for kids” or “adults only” and rated G when a lot of stuff gets past the censors anyway, utterly pointless!

*NO COMMENT. EXCEPT THAT THERE’S BETTER FISH IN THE SEA. THEY‘RE NOT MY INSPIRATION, AND NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THESE SERIOUS REGRETTABLE DEVELOPMENTS. I’M FINDING TRULY GREAT AND CREATIVE WORK SOMEWHERE ELSE AND THAT’S FINAL. PLEASE CONSIDER DOING THE SAME!

*Yes, I have. Let’s both agree not to let our anger drive us to do something that we’ll regret and will haunt us forever, thereby avoiding his fate.
